Longtime radio personality JC Fernandez has announced his departure from “Mercedes In The Morning,” the popular breakfast show on Audacy’s Hot AC station Mix 94.1 KMXB in Henderson/Las Vegas, NV. Fernandez, a staple of the Las Vegas airwaves, had been a key part of the morning program for over two decades, becoming a beloved voice for listeners tuning in to start their day with Mercedes in the morning.
Fernandez’s journey with Mix 94.1 began in 1997, and the following year he took on the role of morning show producer for “Mark & Mercedes.” His career progressed, and he ascended to co-host alongside Mercedes Martinez when Mark Diceiro left at the end of 2014. Prior to his long run in Las Vegas, Fernandez also spent five years as morning show producer at “Z104” WWZZ in Washington DC, from 2001 to 2005, showcasing his commitment to morning radio broadcasting. Beyond radio, Fernandez has also engaged with the Las Vegas community through co-hosting “Las Vegas Now” on KLAS-TV and shared his passion for automobiles on the YouTube channel “Cars, Shops and Collections.”
In a heartfelt message shared publicly, Fernandez expressed his gratitude and reflected on his tenure. “After 27 incredible years, my time at Mix 94.1 has come to an end,” he stated. “To the listeners—your voices, your stories, and your energy have made these years unforgettable. Meeting so many of you in person and feeling your support day after day is something I will always cherish. Many of you have become close friends, even family. I am forever grateful. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making these 27 years so special. I’ll carry these memories with me forever.” He hinted at future endeavors, adding, “2025 begins a new era for me… I truly believe that life happens for you, not to you!” His words resonate with genuine appreciation for his listeners and the experiences gained during his extensive career with Mercedes in the morning and Mix 94.1.
Audacy has officially launched a search for Fernandez’s replacement, seeking a dynamic co-host to join Mercedes Martinez and producer Stephanie Sidel. This presents a significant opportunity for a radio professional to step into a prominent role on a well-established morning show in a major market. As the radio industry evolves, the departure of a seasoned personality like Fernandez marks a transition, and the future of “Mercedes In The Morning” with a new co-host is keenly anticipated by loyal listeners and industry observers alike. The station is poised to continue delivering engaging morning content, maintaining its connection with the Las Vegas audience that tunes in every day to Mercedes in the morning.
