Dimitris Psillakis, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, highlighted the company’s regained momentum throughout Q3, stating, “Our strong Q3 sales results were fueled by robust demand for our outstanding product portfolio—particularly Plug-in Hybrid and top-end vehicle models—combined with stronger inventory supply at the retail level.” Despite facing challenges at the quarter’s end, including severe weather conditions, Mercedes-Benz expresses gratitude to its dealer partners for their dedication to customer safety and service.

Leading the charge is the Plug-in Hybrid segment, experiencing an astounding 213% surge in sales compared to Q3 2023. This remarkable increase is attributed to the successful launch of new PHEV models, including the GLC 350e 4MATIC, AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE, AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE, and AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE. The growing consumer interest in electrified vehicles is clearly reflected in these figures.
Top-End Vehicle Segment Demonstrates Strong Performance
Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to luxury and performance is further validated by the Top-End vehicle segment’s 33% sales increase in Q3 2024 compared to the previous year. The high-performance Mercedes-AMG models also contributed significantly, with 9,537 units sold, representing a 31% rise from Q3 2023. Core and Entry Segments Contribute to Overall Growth
The Core segment showcased a substantial 43% sales growth compared to Q3 2023, driven by the strong availability and popularity of models like the GLC, which saw a remarkable 144% year-over-year increase and emerged as the volume leader for the quarter. The GLE also experienced a notable 34% demand increase.
Similarly, the Entry segment recorded a 27% increase, benefiting from the availability of the CLA, GLA, and GLB models. The CLA, in particular, witnessed a significant 114% increase with 4,717 units sold, while the GLA experienced an impressive 668% growth compared to Q3 2023.
Mercedes-Benz Vans Makes Strides in Electric Mobility
Mercedes-Benz Vans also played a crucial role, with Q3 2024 sales reaching 12,769 units. The introduction of the eSprinter, Mercedes-Benz USA’s first all-electric van in North America, has bolstered year-to-date sales, contributing 667 units and signaling the brand’s move towards electric commercial vehicles.
