O’Hara’s automotive career began in 1977 as a part-time porter while still in high school. This entry-level position was the starting point for a climb through the ranks of sales and management, providing him with invaluable insights into customer service – a cornerstone of any thriving business. These early lessons in customer satisfaction played a crucial role in his later success, culminating in an impressive 2,000-unit sales year for both new and used vehicles at his own dealership in 1999.

Today, Bill O’Hara’s leadership extends beyond Mercedes-Benz/Sprinter of Hoffman Estates to encompass INFINITI of Hoffman Estates, and Jaguar Land Rover Schaumburg. His promotion to this expansive role in January 2020 was a testament to his proven leadership abilities demonstrated in various positions within Zeigler since his arrival in 2013. Initially appointed as GM of BMW of Orland Park, O’Hara’s responsibilities grew significantly in 2015 after Zeigler’s acquisition of MINI of Orland Park, Zeigler Nissan of Orland Park, and INFINITI of Orland Park. He was subsequently promoted to VP and GM of Operations in Orland Park, a regional oversight role he held until December of the preceding year.

A key aspect of Zeigler Auto Group that resonates with O’Hara is its commitment to promoting from within. This internal growth culture, which he experienced firsthand in the Orland Park locations, is something he actively fosters at Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg. He emphasizes the unique family-owned and operated nature of Zeigler Auto Group, highlighting CEO Aaron Zeigler’s vision and the positive, engaging culture he has instilled. O’Hara believes in creating an environment where employees are motivated and excited to come to work, emphasizing the importance of career advancement opportunities within the company for employee satisfaction and personal growth.

Residing in Orland Park, IL, with his wife Wanda, Bill O’Hara balances his demanding professional life with family and personal passions. Married for 32 years, he and Wanda have three children: Courtney, Kelly, and Will O’Hara, who himself is continuing the family’s automotive legacy as the current GM of BMW of Orland Park. Outside of work, Bill enjoys family time, particularly with his grandson, and pursues hobbies such as golfing, boating, and a 25-year tradition of professional snowmobile drag racing with his son. Bill O’Hara’s extensive experience and dedication make him an invaluable asset to Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates and the wider Zeigler Auto Group.
