Mercedes Benz EQA: An Owner’s Positive Experience and Honest Review

It seems that many Mercedes Benz Eqa owners are quietly satisfied with their vehicles, perhaps not actively voicing their positive experiences online. It’s often the case that contentment doesn’t generate as much discussion as dissatisfaction. As an EQA owner myself, while acknowledging it’s not without minor imperfections – as is true for any car, regardless of brand – my overall experience has been decidedly positive. My EQA did experience a front shutter issue, which I anticipate will be resolved promptly. However, throughout the approximately 2,500 kilometers I’ve driven in my (previously owned at 5,500 km) EQA, it has consistently performed its primary function flawlessly: reliably getting me from point A to point B. I trust this reliability will continue.

The real question, and perhaps the ultimate endorsement, is this: if someone offered me the original purchase price, or even a bit more, would I sell my EQA? The answer is a definitive no. This EQA marks my entry into the world of electric vehicles, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the combination of classic Mercedes-Benz quality with the modern EV driving experience. I typically drive in ‘D’ or ‘D+’ modes and frequently utilize the steering wheel paddles to engage regenerative braking when slowing down for situations like roundabouts or stop signs. Monitoring energy consumption in various driving conditions is an engaging aspect of EV ownership, and it’s particularly satisfying to connect the car to my home charger on a sunny day and replenish the battery using solar energy – essentially driving for free, thanks to our investment in a home solar system.

Occasionally, driving my wife’s 2016 Mercedes-Benz B250 serves as a stark reminder of how far automotive technology has progressed. I’ve even found myself instinctively reaching for the left paddle in the B250 when approaching a stop, only to be met with a traditional gear change. While it does provide engine braking, it’s nowhere near the level of deceleration offered by ‘D-‘ or ‘D–‘ in the EQA, quickly necessitating the use of the brake pedal. My wife is fond of her B250 and, while she hasn’t yet driven the EQA250 and doesn’t express a strong desire to, I imagine she would simply put it in ‘D’ and drive it much like her current car.

Ultimately, car preference is subjective, but I am genuinely enjoying my EQA250. Despite a few areas where improvements could be made and a minor issue encountered, I have no plans to part with it. Concerns about reliability are simply not a factor in my satisfaction, even considering the currently elevated prices in the used car market. The Mercedes Benz EQA offers a compelling blend of luxury, electric efficiency, and a genuinely enjoyable driving experience.
